Donna Hay

I recently became aware of Donna Hay - if you don't know who she is - think of her as the Martha Stewart of Australia.  She has a food publication that is available here in the states which can be considered very swoon-worthy.  Her name was given to me in my photography class as a source of inspiration and oh.my.god!  These are people that definitely know how to photograph food.  I guess I never really thought about it but good photography with food is pertinent.  I realized this when I was looking at what seemed like a decent enough recipe on another blog and nearly threw up when I saw the picture.  Bad lighting and the food essentially looked like dog leftovers - not a way to sell an audience on the dish.  The recipes at Donna Hay are a little bit more sophisticated for my palette but the pictures are enough to justify the heavy price tag of the magazine.
